Graduating seniors from Toledo High School and Cowlitz Prairie Academy located in Toledo, Washington are encouraged to apply for these locally funded scholarships. It is Toledo Scholarship’s goal to award local scholarships through a fair process and to provide scholarships to as many individuals as possible. Below is an overview of how our process works.

How to apply for a scholarship

To apply for all available scholarship available through Toledo Scholarships, your completed application (your essay, a copy of your transcripts and permission form) must be received by March 31, 2024.  Please email your application documents (as attachments) in a .pdf file format to [email protected]. Do not send as a link to your document drive. Toledo Scholarship will then reply to confirm that your application has been received. Be sure to follow the directions on the application.

How Scholarships are awarded

The various scholarships available through Toledo Scholarship are awarded according to each individual award criteria. If Toledo Scholarship is given the task of selecting a recipient, it is done through a panel consisting of more than a dozen different committee members who serve on the organization’s selection committee.

What to expect if you are selected for an award

In early May, you will be notified by mail if you are selected for one or more award(s) and you’ll be invited to the annual Toledo Awards and Recognition Night at Toledo High School. Attending this event is a requirement of receiving an award through our committee. The awards night will be held 7 PM at Toledo High School on June 1, 2023.

You will also be required to write a thank you letter to your scholarship donor along with providing an unsealed self addressed and stamped #10 size envelope to the Toledo Scholarship no later than June 30th. You will not receive your award unless this is step is complete.

How do I collect my scholarship funds

Toledo Scholarships include scholarships selected by the Toledo Community Scholarship Selection Committee, and those selected by individual organizations that also utilize the Toledo Community Scholarship application and payment system.  For recipients who are paid from the Toledo Scholarship, you will be paid after the completion of the semester or quarter and if all the scholarship requirements have been met. Simply email us your Payment Request Form and a copy of your transcripts to [email protected]

As a graduating senior, if you learn you have been nominated for any other scholarship(s), please let us know by May 21st, as we are happy to include the award during our awards night and list it on the special scholarship insert for the THS graduation program.
